A rigorous standard — not a generic one The pass mark at IBR Certified is 70% across a weighted scoring model that combines three components: your masterclass participation (20%), your written assessment (40%) and your live group exercise (40%). The majority of your score comes from applied, observed performance — not a standardised test that the same answer key has been used to mark for the past ten years. The assessment criteria are shared before assessment day because we have nothing to hide. The standard is genuinely high and the process is genuinely transparent. When you earn IBR Certified — Sustainability Risk, you have not passed a memory test. You have demonstrated, in front of experienced practitioners, that you can govern sustainability risk in practice. Your assessors observe your engagement, your reasoning and your contribution across all three masterclass days — not just on assessment day. That is only possible in a small, live cohort. Yes. To be eligible you must meet at least one of the following conditions: A minimum of two years of professional experience in ESG, sustainability, responsible sourcing or corporate social responsibility A minimum of two years of professional experience in risk management, enterprise risk, operational risk or compliance with direct exposure to ESG or supply chain risk obligations A current role with formal responsibility for Sustainability strategy, reporting, supply chain sustainability or third-party ESG due diligence

Participants who do not achieve the required standard on their first attempt may request one reassessment at no additional cost. Our faculty will provide written feedback identifying the areas to strengthen before reassessment.

The exercise is observed by a trained IBR assessor using a structured marking rubric. You are assessed on the quality of your risk analysis, the clarity of your contribution to the group, your use of the `sustainability risk frameworks taught in the masterclass, and your decision-making under time pressure. Full marking criteria are shared with participants before assessment day.

This course is accredited by CPD Standards Office and after passing the exam, you get 15 CE credits.
